Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using OpenYard ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.

What OpenYard Is

OpenYard helps small groups of friends hang out every week by:

• Analyzing calendar availability across your crew
• Automatically scheduling recurring weekly hangs
• Sending SMS and email reminders
• Coordinating RSVPs and check-ins

Account Requirements

To use OpenYard, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old
• Provide accurate, current information
• Maintain the security of your account
• Not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

Calendar Access

OpenYard requires access to your Google Calendar to function. By granting access, you allow us to:

• Read your calendar availability (free/busy times)
• Create recurring weekly hang events
• Update hang details when needed

We only read availability, not event details. You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account settings.

User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use OpenYard for spam, harassment, or illegal activities
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated tools to access the Service (bots, scrapers)
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

SMS and Communications

By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from OpenYard including:

• Hang invitations
• Weekly reminders
• RSVP links
• Check-in notifications

Message frequency: approximately 1-2 messages per week per crew. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Intellectual Property

OpenYard and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by OpenYard and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any content you provide (profile information, crew names, etc.). By using OpenYard, you grant us a license to use that content solely to provide the Service.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you:

• Breach these Terms
• Engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Violate applicable laws

You may delete your account at any time through the app. Upon termination, all your data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer

OpenYard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, reliability, or availability
• Non-infringement

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible if hangs don't happen due to technical issues, calendar conflicts, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall OpenYard, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including:

• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruption
• Computer damage or system failure

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of OpenYard shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the past 12 months (currently $0, as the Service is free).

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Posting the new Terms on this page
• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Sending you an email (for material changes)

Your continued use of OpenYard after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
